there were 4 lights.
This was such a good pair of episodes. SO GOOD!
Fuckin Gelico
Jellico was all the things Riker said, but that isn’t why Riker was pissed at him. What Jellico said was also true “you’re a bad first officer”. Riker was a captain, who chose to stay as first officer because of Picard and the Enterprise. He didn’t see Jellico as anything other than a “guest captain”, filling in for this particular mission, and didn’t appreciate him making unnecessary changes to the way the Enterprise functions – when his intention was to have the ship for himself. It’s like… somebody borrowing your car and having it painted a different color and throwing away your custom phone mount and air freshener. Totally unnecessary, cosmetic changes to suit their preference.
Jellico wasn’t a *bad* captain, but he wasn’t a Starfleet research and exploration flagship captain. Probably a good admiral, commanding a desk somewhere, but you kind of need a stint on one of the big ships to qualify for that promotion, so really this worked out for everyone.
That is *a captian*. The captain will always be Picard, who Riker would never tell to fuck off.
