Guitar dude looks like a 30 pound heavier Eddie Van Halen
Fox Chase is probably what was being played at the time
Thanks for this pic. I always thought Blackfoot had great guitar players. Looked up Shorty. He actually wrote Train, Train and played part of that awesome harmonica on the 1979 track – at age 67. Rickey was his grandson!
Rickey was in an early version of Lynyrd Skynyrd, as a drummer and vocalist, from the period prior to their first album 1971-72. His early work with the group was later released on various LPs and compilations.
He left to be guitarist and vocalist in Blackfoot, (a band he’d previously played in). The group released nearly a dozen albums and had success in the late 70’s to 90’s.
Rickey then rejoined Lynyrd Skynyrd, and has remained with them since that time. Some of his performances are available online.
Guitar Dude looks like Matt Pike of Sleep / High On Fire fame.
