Just a reminder that the featured Muppet in this sketch, [Bip Bippadotta](https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Bip_Bippadotta), is an entirely different entity from the featured Muppet of the [Mahna Mahna](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTXyXuqfBLA) sketch, who is also named [Mahna Mahna](https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Mahna_Mahna). Yes, they may look practically identical, they even have the same original performers and same voices, but *confuse them at your peril*. You’ll look quite the fool in mixed company if you start yakking about how great Mahna Mahna (the puppet) is in the “Fat Cat” sketch, lemme tell ya.
Man, this was the Sesame Street of my youth. By the time my son was born, the show was 50% Elmo, and cookies were a sometimes thing. Never watched much of the modern era.
Gotta love the puppet reactions, the blue guy reacting the the purple guy each time. Then on the last section the double take and actually doing a good job at blocking the red dude. XD
Sesame Street was created to reflect the environment of the children watching it. The complete self-absorption of Elmo is brilliantly reflective of our time. Ours is a cultural ghetto. Wouldn’t you agree?

Still start singing this anytime I count something.
Around this stage of his career you really see the drug use start to take hold. A brilliant mind

How did I never know that the Manamana guy did more than one single…truly the soul of the age!

There are so many great old Sesame Street clips. One of my favorites: https://youtu.be/KTc3PsW5ghQ

When Bip Bippadotta sings, I picture Rowlf the piano playing dog from The Muppet Show.
Sort of like when Yoda talks, I hear my old pal, Grover.
Funny how that works!
🤣
Awesome piece.
I used to love Sesame Street.
Sesame street is actually getting a new comic which looks like it will be just as hard [lol](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/survival-street-comic-1.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=1138&dpr=1.5)
This came out in 1973, six years before Rappers Delight.
I always loved Zuckermans [ode to selfishness](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc1RfFYxZ2I) – We all Live in a Capital I.. seems super relatable these days
U want Hard????! r/bertstrips
My favorite – [Rebel L](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjbpuK_H2VY)
The singer for the police woman has some pipes for sure!
Like every Sesame Street segment ever this could use a whole lot more Pepe The Prawn.
That was solid. I want to hear a metal band cover this.
This is good but I love [the count](https://youtu.be/B-Wd-Q3F8KM)
I had the [Count it Higher](https://youtu.be/JLZIMUYdtrU) VHS when I was a kid. Now that shit fucking SLAPPED
… probably shouldn’t be using that kind of slang when I just dated myself as an older millenial.
Wow this was buried deep in my memory. Thanks for unlocking it!
nice post
So Sesame Street invented grunge music…slow, soft verses followed by loud choruses.
Why the fuck is the melody on this literally Super mario? Does anyone else hear that? Did..did nintendo copy this? Fuck man which one came first?!?
Treat yo self to some [Golden An](https://youtu.be/hbJecXQ1Hgk). The music was so awesome. Henson was brilliant.
