    Premieres August 5 on Hulu

    >Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

UPDATE: The movie will also be available in Comanche, with the movie being shot in both languages ([Source](https://www.slashfilm.com/886791/prey-will-give-viewers-the-option-to-watch-the-film-in-the-comanche-language/))

I’m not watching this because I’m already sold on the concept of this movie but every time I see images from it I get more hyped.

This looks super promising and I loved 10 Cloverfield Lane so it’s nice to see Dan Trachtenberg make another film.

Love the look of the Predator’s “old school but still light years more advanced than ours” technology and helmet. Looks like the helmet features a portion of skull integrated, possibly from a previous trophy?

Over on YouTube everybody is bitching about “How could this little girl with her bow and arrow beat a Predator this is just a woke casting stunt blah blah blah”.

Have these people even seen Predator? Where a guy beats the alien with sticks and rocks? Where his strength is useless and he has to use trickery and preparation to prevail?

I’m pleasantly surprised to see Reddit doing better. Though it’s only been up for an hour, so the thread is still young.

WTF, this looks this good and it is just releasing on Hulu!? What a waste of a good theatrical release.

I really like the look of the Predator. Not only does it match the “tribal” idea. But it looks different while still recognizable.

I’m curious to see how it’s tech is different in this given the time period.

Very cool to see what looks like Native American [Hand Talk.](https://youtu.be/s1-StAlw3aE)

I’m not a huge fan of the Alien(s)/Predator franchise(s), but this does look pretty dope.

What I would give for a pre-colonization Native American monster movie, though.

Interesting that the original “Prey” video game (not the one from 2016 or so, but the one from about 15 years ago from which the former borrowed the IP) is about a Native American fighting alien invaders, although that was set in more or less the present day.

So is there gonna be some scene where a Pred who lives picks up a flintlock pistol from one of those settlers and brings it back to his ship so Danny Glover can get rewarded with it in the distant future of 1997?

  • Styrofoamman123

The good news is, it only needs to not be a complete trash fire of a film to better its predecessor in the franchise.

  • a-eiou

Much more impressed with this than the teaser.

CG looks a little off, makeup could’ve been more gritty (everything looks too clean) and I wished the predators hadn’t developed the 3 pointer laser yet, its a cool scene sure but more primitive Predator weapons would be nice to see.

  • TiredAngryBadger

I have been burned by the predator franchise by everything after the first two original films. And now you show me this, something that looks like it could be a compelling story, and the portrayal of first nations played by actual members of first nations. How fucking dare you get my hopes so high!? This film better be amazing or I will fucking riot.

  • Centurychip46

I’d like to see the Native Americans somehow trigger a stampede of buffalo and cause a 2000 pounder to hit the predator at full speed.
