It always cracks me up at concerts when they play music that doesn’t sound like any of their songs. Then when the first few notes of a famous hit starts everyone cheers.
5:54 is the time you’re gonna want.
Most eagerly anticipated drum fill ever.
how do they do gated reverb live?
My god that’s tasty
I’m not the biggest Genesis / Phil Collins fan, but those guys were fantastic musicians. I hate that Phil had to call it quits during his more recent shows.
I still see him as the South Park version in my head…
You could not escape this guy in the 80s…
Was he running with the bulls after the show?
Yes!!
Points for managing to sneak the handheld video camera into the arena without confiscation despite glowing red power light.
1997 – my senior year of high school
And of course, so cliche, this was the song we ran out of the locker room to for football pep rallies.
Right at the drum solo.
Iconic.
Nice to see a show where 90% of the crowd isn’t recording it on their phones.
I’m so happy he plays that part himself.
Love Phil Collins!! Serious Hits Live is an absolute must on every road trip!
The scene, 1980s:
The room is dark, strange sounds leak in from the street.
The coke is almost gone, and the Qualuudes haven’t kicked in.
Those drums get you every time.
