2002: an image depicting a bunch of dedicated individuals doing something strange simply as the most convenient means to an end finds its way onto the internet. despite the limitations of their circumstances, these people did something that may have never crossed the average person’s mind so they could include a friend in their activities. its possible nobody in the picture even knew it was taken. its no doubt mysterious, but undeniably a depiction of a close group of friends with a whole lot of soul
2022: a well known joke image is poorly remade in an inauthentic fashion purely for attention, and all of the work was likely immediately undone after the picture was taken. the “production” is entirely soulless and exists solely to boost someone’s ego through meaningless internet points, as does the vast majority of easily disposable content on the internet nowadays. just people endlessly ripping off each other because they all want a pat on the back but none are willing to do the heavy lifting
