Intelligence vs Sentience, I think, is the real question. YES, Machines can learn. AI does this. We have been using ML (Machine Learning) for at least a decade.
Its not smarter than a meat grinder. Garbage in garbage out. Is it intelligent? No because you put garbage in it and so you got garbage. You can say the same thing when you put the right things in. You get the right things out. But that’s not intelligence.
I’m not sure, but I’ll tell you this: I still don’t know how to use a computer.
