Wow!
In theaters April 7:
>Owen Wilson stars as Carl Nargle, Vermont’s #1 public TV painter who is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and fans hanging on his every stroke… until a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.
Had to double check if this was an SNL poster.
Who will Vince Vaughn be?
Looks straight out of Tropic Thunder
wow
Such a strange idea for a movie. Creating a “fictional character” that is literally the embodiment of a real person and creating a completely fictional story around them. I’m curious as to why the creators felt this movie needs to exist at all, but I suppose we’ll find out.
This does not feel like a real movie
I know Bob Ross has become some kind of post-ironic meme for anyone born after the 80’s, but he was an extremely genuine guy who just wanted people to love art and creativity.
I’m not sure what the tone of this movie is supposed to be, but I hope it lands on flattering him, because his goals were pretty noble despite his funny hairstyle: anyone can be an artist, everyone has talent, art can be therapeutic and rewarding for its own sake, and making mistakes is ok.
I’ve put *Joy of Painting* on in the background to chill out, and people always get sucked in. “What’s he? Oh, shit, that’s the reflection!”
Everyone freaking out that it looks like a comedy. It is a comedy.
For anyone not aware, this movie is a comedy about a fictional character. The character is obviously playing off Bob Ross but it’s not a serious biopic about a legally distinct Bob Ross
Cocaine Bear and now this.
It’s the year of “Why are they making this?” movies.
If there is one Bob Ross movie you should watch it’s [Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14539744/)
Fuck Bob Ross Inc. who fleeced him out of the rights to use his name and are pissing on his legacy and his son for financial gain.
I hope that the Bob Ross IP owners won’t see a single penny from this movie. Knowing how they don’t even share income with his family.
If “wow” were a movie poster
I saw them filming this!
I woulda went with Owen Wilson in “Nose”
Came for the “wows”
“RUN! IT’S BOB ROSS!”
“It looks like Bob Ross, but due to international copyright laws – it’s not.”
“STILL! WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS BOB ROSS!”
“Though it isn’t.”
Wow
I was sure this was a satire promo
Wow! This is going to be Owen in a wig more than any resemblance of Bob’s mannerisms and personality.
I fucking hate this
I saw the trailer this weekend. I just kind of feel like it is making fun of Bob Ross somehow, even though it is a different “fictional” guy.
I am not really a sensitive type about media, but why would you make a comedy to mock such a humble and kind guy? It would be like making a comedy about Mr. Rodgers.
Anyone else as confused as I am?
I can already hear him saying wow
Do not stand where he once stood… Can’t they leave one good fucking thing alone… America can not make anything original anymore… Its reboots and reshoots…. Fucking disgraceful
“Wow” the colors
Owen Wilson is the last guy who can disappear into a role. What a bad idea.
What the? I mean, wow?
Wow. This looks like some kind of ai inspired joke
as long as he doesn’t say “WAAAA-OWWW!” fer fucks sake
Wow
I watch the Bob Ross stream on YouTube every weekend before bed. “This is who I am now,” says the adult who watched him every weekend decades ago.
Why Owen Wilson? Has to be one of the worst actors in Hollywood.
