Well I didn’t quite get all the way through that.
Bold producing a 1984 remake in Russia these days; presumably it avoids even the lightest hint of allegory.
Also: wow, although I don’t speak Russian, the dreariness and woodenness of the performances somehow came through.
Well, that looked awful.
Michael Radford’s extraordinary version was artful and fantastic, and it would be hard to surpass.
This new version reminds me of the German TV adaptation of **Wir** (**We**), but less poetic and remarkable.
