McNulty was insufferable this entire season, so it was gratifying to see in this scene that it had actually been building to something with his character.
In every single episode there is at least one scene or one line that cuts so deep. I just watched the full run yet again a few months ago – I can’t imagine it ever getting old or irrelevant.
So I’ve never seen one episode of this show but the sheer number of references I’ve heard about this show being one of the best ever really has me curious.

It’s the shit that happens while you’re waiting for moments that will never come.
One of the best shows of all time.
Top 5 for sure.
McNulty was insufferable this entire season, so it was gratifying to see in this scene that it had actually been building to something with his character.
It cracks me up how nerdy McNulty is in this scene. He literally cannot imagine a life other than one as a police officer.
Mcnutty is driving that car toward that stone wall at top speed.
The best scene

Hands down best Wire line – “Ahh shit…”
