Mass effect 1. The amount of people who act like its such a chore to get through to get to the “good ones” is sad. I thought it was easily the best in the trilogy
I picked Xenoblade chronicles X because it was a WiiU exclusive. So many people missed out on this gem of a JRPG , with Hiroyuki Sawano as the composser(Attack on Titan, etc), flying mechs, and a huge alien world, this was such an amazing Nintendo game.
MGO, the online extension of MGS4. Painfully underrated because Konami made it so you had to do so much shit just to play online but whoever went through it, all call it one of the best games that ever existed. It got shut down in 2012 and revived by hardcore fans a few years ago but there’s even far less players today then there was back then.
I personally had fun with the campaign/story mode and I found the absurdity of some of the levels to be entertaining. The various ways you could slaughter the other bears meant that you could potentially take out everyone with a different method each and the introduction of being able to drive bears insane meant that you could also beat most, if not, all of the levels without laying a finger on another bear.
I just played “Chernobylite” on ps4, like a Russian Fallout 4 game set in and around the doomed nuclear plant.
Companions that you send out on missions, base building, weapon mods, decisions to make with potentially devastating results of companions leaving and making the final mission harder, good gunplay, some very nice graphics at times and it’s cheap, I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had with it.
Meta score is in the 60s so I’d say it’s pretty underrated.
Great characters, fun combat, cool zelda like puzzles, Pokémon like collectable evolveable pets/monsters (before Pokémon was a thing), a randomized 99 level dungeon. As hard or easy as you made it for yourself.
Moonlighter is a hidden gem which i think doesn’t get enough love.
It has a beautiful pixel graphic art style and honestly one of the best soundtracks i have ever heard (fun fact: I’m pretty sure the entire soundtrack or at least most of it is rearangments of the same song but its so well done that its hard to notice in most cases) and the gameplay is a smart and inventive spin on the rougelite genre i have never seen before.

Sunset Overdrive
Grey Goo
I know Bastion, Transistor, and now Hades get talked up a lot from Supergiant, but Pyre is their biggest jewel IMO.
Baten Kaitos maybe. a deck builder before it’s time.
Naughty bear.

don’t know if it’s underrated, but i think Radiata Stories on ps2(?) is one of my favorite rpgs! loved everything about that game
I’m literally playing through it right now (for my second time). I’ll be starting chapter 12 today!
One related to your pic actually… Xenogears
Leisure suit Larry: Magna C*m Laude
The darkness
Condemned 2: Bloodshot.
One of the few first-person games with decent melee combat, and is also a damn fine horror game.

Guild wars 2 is a pretty underated mmorpg all of the base game is free and the two expansions are cheaper than other mmo expansions
Lufia 2 Rise of sinistrals
My favourite SNES era JRPG

This kickstarted fantasy for me. Great game.
Cyberpunk 2077
Earthbound/mother 3
Zone of the Enders 2, a must play if you like ps2 games
Vagrant Story
It was so unique. I don’t think there has been anything like it since.
The Witcher 3. I can’t believe no one on this sub ever talks about this indie gem.
Metal Storm on NES. I played it and it was good. Somewhere in my top 20 NES games.

InFamous 1 and 2 on the ps3. Wish mine still worked so i can replay them.
