My grandpa( my moms dad) this photo was taken in the late 1950s I think, my mom was born in 1959 when he was stationed at Fort Ord in California. This is the only photo I know of that exists of him, sadly he committed suicide in 1989 when I was a year old. My mom told me he was the sweetest, gentlest and kindest man. I have an obsession of knowing everything about him, I never got to know him but I feel like I do somehow. It’s still a very sensitive subject for my mom to talk about, occasionally I’ll bring him up but I don’t want to upset her.
