Oilers win!
One of the funniest jokes I ever saw/heard was a comedian with a guitar, started playing that easily recognizable guitar intro and then belted out”Whatbare the words to LaBamba?” in perfect tune and rhythm. FAH
All time song, such a good winning song
Remember they played at my middle school Eastmont Intermediate back in the 70’s what a blast they were!
And…I miss Johnny!
Fun fact: only three Spanish language songs have ever hit #1 on the Billboard chart.
La Bamba, 1987.
Macarena, 1995
Despacito, 2017
Elite company!
Loved those guys! I probably saw this when it was new too! 🙂
Los Lobos is such an underrated band!
They have written some fantastic songs (check out the album “Kiko”) and put on such a great live show!
David Hidalgo has the voice of an angel. Listen to “Short Side of Nothing” off said album. One of my personal favorites.
I was 10 when this movie came out and La Bamba was an enormous hit. It was played everywhere. My school bus driver was really cool and had the entire bus singing it on the way to school lol
Hey lefty guitarist!
Punk folk Chicanos doing their thing.
Loved them since I watched la bamba.
Bad thing is now when I hear the actual Ritchie valens version, I see it as a knock off los lobos :/
I never realized how much the bass line for this song really slaps
