maybe it’s just me, but Jeff Lynn always seemed like a hanger on. I love the Wilburys and Tom Petty , but i can’t stand that Jeff ls just a drum machine beat with their otherwise perfect songs.
George Harrison released “Cloud 9” just before this album, which BTW Jeff Lynn worked on with him. If you like this album, give “Cloud 9” a listen too.
How did Jeff Lynne got into this group of famous and iconic musicians. I mean ELO was alright but I would hardly include him on the same level as the rest of this group.

Absolute legends. Tweeter and the Monkey Man deserves so much more love than it got
“Baby, you’re adorable”
maybe it’s just me, but Jeff Lynn always seemed like a hanger on. I love the Wilburys and Tom Petty , but i can’t stand that Jeff ls just a drum machine beat with their otherwise perfect songs.
legends, they’re in my daily walkabout playlist
In 1988, who would have guessed that Dylan would be one of the last two surviving members of this group in 2023.
Lot of talent in this photo.
May the three who are departed rest in peace.
Loved them. Thanks for the memories.
Well, it’s all right even when push comes to shove
Well, it’s all right if you got someone to love
Well, it’s all right, everything’ll work out fine
Well, it’s all right, we’re going to the end of the line
Handle With Care. This has to be one of the most epic super groups ever. What a gift given to the world.
The super group that made all other super groups redundant
Tweeter and the Monkey Man!!
It’s allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll right, riding around in the breeze!
Legends.
The only time a bunch of superstars set out to make a record together and actually delivered the goods. And what incredible goods they were!
Clearly Petty didn’t get the dress memo
Looking forward to seeing them all At The End of the Line.
Jeff Lynne is the only Wilbury left. Wow
Just once, I would like someone to tell Tony Hawk he looks like Tom Petty
Gosh Roy was only 52.
I was in college when Handle Me With Care was released. I’m now older than all of them when they song came out. Handle me with care, indeed.
My buddy and I the first time we saw them on TV:
“George!”
“Jeff!”
“Bob!!!”
“Tom!?!”
“Roy!!!!!!”
The Traveling Horde of Rhythm Guitarists
When this band came out did anyone know who Jeff Lynne was?
Also, it sucked that right after this came out Roy Orbison died.
Nice band but I prefer The Rutles
Roy Orbison always sort of looks like k.d. lang dressed up as Roy Orbison for Halloween.
Got the first album on vinyl in 1988, right about the time Musicland stopped carrying vinyl. Wish I still had it. I love these guys and that band!
Edit: also had the 7″ single for “Handle With Care”.
They look so much older to me than they actually were. Their ages at that time:
Bob Dylan – 47
Jeff Lynne – 41
Tom Petty – 37
Roy Orbison – 52
George Harrison – 45
So much talent and different voice texture that blended great. My favorite song from this super group is still Tweeter and the Monkey Man.
George Harrison released “Cloud 9” just before this album, which BTW Jeff Lynn worked on with him. If you like this album, give “Cloud 9” a listen too.
The Dwindling Wilburys.
Pretty hard to be cooler than George Harrison
Any band that has Bob and Roy will automatically become the best “super group” in history.
Boy band with actual talent…or Jeff Lynne and the bois
THE Supergroup.
Four of them giving off a laidback Ramone’s tribute band vibe. Tommy would come out on stage when they did a Lenny and the squigtones set.
The things that could have happened.
Believe it or not, all of these men went on to have successful music careers!
That’s a lot of cool in one picture.
The first super group. Not a bad song in their catalog.
The greatest super group, imho.
I listen to this CD all the time! Fabulous 👌 👏! I recognized Tom Petty’s voice and style right away.
How did Jeff Lynne got into this group of famous and iconic musicians. I mean ELO was alright but I would hardly include him on the same level as the rest of this group.
r/ithinkyoushouldleave Jeff Lynne used to be a real piece of shit
