Is there a better “life retrospective” film than It’s A Wonderful Life?

Merry Christmas everyone!

I, like millions of other people, rewatched It’s A Wonderful Life today and it hit me hardest it’s ever hit. Usually I’m fine up until that glorious and uproaring ending ([“To my big brother George, the richest man in town”](https://media.tenor.com/Nuk1UUoiaTcAAAAC/community-my-emotions.gif)), but this time it felt like every single scene had an emotional element to it.

Mr Gower’s breakdown, Harry’s return from college, the bank run (shoutout to that one sweet lady who asked for $17.50, that moment was sooo good), Bert & Ernie serenading the newlyweds, the “war rallying” scene with all the side characters etc.

It’s such a cinematic, yet easy to follow jump from scene to scene, encompassing what, like 25+ years? Has there ever been a better film to do this? Kept thinking surely Benjamin Button didn’t do it this well, did it?
