“Women Talking” aka r/movies’ personal hell.
Good to see Sarah Polley still getting some work.
Why did they call in Women Talking?
This cast is STACKED af. So much talent here.
That one towards the middle didn’t get the message to look off-camera.
Before you make fun of the title and cast please read what it’s about. It’s a evil tragedy they occurred in real life to a bunch of women
The prequel to 12 angry men.
This is one of my top picks for TIFF next month! Looking forward to it!
Is it just me or are Buckley, Mara and Foy all kind of in that same quadrant of female actors that people know their name but couldn’t remember *why?*
Loved Sarah Polley in The Sweet Hereafter, and The Weight of Water.
Am I blind or is Frances not in this pic?
It’s based on the really fantastic book by Miriam Toews. Very powerful but dark. It’s fiction but based on real things that have happened in religious communities. I believe the book’s setting is amongst Mennonites and it’s what the women in the community have to reconcile when the men in their group are arrested for drugging and raping the women. I read it a while back and had to put the book down numerous times because it’s so depressing.
Reading what this is about… holy fucking shit. Sounds like a demented schlocky horror plot but it’s *a true story* ????
