I can play a number of instruments, but always had difficulty with stringed instruments. I think this video might well be the inspiration to get me to pick up a guitar. I have listened to a lot of guitar, but I want to play this very much.
Absolutely beautiful tone! Loved it
That person is getting kinda good at that.
This is one of the most impressive displays I’ve seen in a long time. Not only extremely technically proficient but also very nice to listen to. Many times guitar wankery forgets that second part.

The capo, the clip on the strings, raises the pitch of the strings and the resulting harmonics to give those high ping sounds.
Alan Gogoll – He’s a really chill dude. I reached out to him to use some of his music in my videos and he was so supportive. Mondays melody is one of my favorites!
Yes, but can he play Wonderwall?
It’s like John Butler and Jaco Pastorius mixed skills
Watching and listening put a smile on my face that will last through the day!
Alan Gogoll is amazing! This is my berry picking music when I go to seasonal farms and want to pretend I’m in Stardew Valley
My life is better for having watched that.
A little different, but one of the most mind blowing guitar videos I’ve seen: https://youtu.be/nY7GnAq6Znw
It’s like if Starwdew Valley was a guitar instead of a game.
Reminds me of this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LSR72zy9eE
That would make a pleasent sound for a morning alarm
These kind of playstyles always sound beautiful but never like an actual song to me
If you like OP, You will love this.
Love this guy, too.
[Somewhat reminds me of the guitar in Harmony Hall, idk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlkTVMMkCP4)
Reminds me of Ocean by John Butler. Both beautiful songs.
Guitar can do so many crazy things!
[Check out Kaki King](https://youtu.be/shYdqbJgQdc)
You might enjoy [Michelle by Tommy Emmanuel](https://youtu.be/JS8SBw5Omhk). He uses a similar technique in the beginning, producing a ‘harp’ sound. Purdy gud
Check out some [Lenny Breau ](https://youtu.be/0EKnCEWaETI).
He was the earliest example I’ve seen using this technique. It’s really neat!
Well it does but it helps to have compression live or during post production for recording.
Harmonics are not so popular because of this in scenarios when you don’t have amplification and compression.
It’s used quite a lot more in electric guitar for these reasons.
I used to love this style of playing until I realized it was so limiting every piece ends up sounding very similar.
