Lol…it hits harder having owned a Buick for many years and not remembering this scene. I now own a Prius…but my dad didn’t stop buying Buicks until they stopped making them 🤣
Fun fact: “Buick” is the old fashioned Dutch spelling for “belly”.
It gets worse: if you know someone with the last name of “Suyckerbuick” or some variation of that spelling, this means “Sugar belly”.
Any future Gomez performance will be measured against his and John Astin’s.
The casting in these movies was unparalleled genius.
Raul and Angelica were perfect together.
Fester marries Debbie (with the Buick) in Addams Family Values, 1993.
Julia is an actor that isn’t talked about much these days. He was truly excellent in this role. So much charisma, perfect timing. Flawless.
I love the street fighter movie for his over the top performance
Perhaps best acted comedic delivery of all time.
“To me it’s Tuesday” will forever be my favorite scene of his.
Is that the short guy from rules of engagement?
Getting MAJOR Dennis Reynolds vibes from Mr. Addams here.
Lol, lost among the star-studded cast was Nathan Lane as the beleaguered cop.
“Gomez, no!”
It’s the little embellishments like that which made these two movies so endearing
Nathan Lane is prefect
He was gone to soon, would have made a great DC or Marvel character.
“Well isnt he a lady killer.”
“Acquitted!”
The classic comedy double act has the straight man and the joker.
The straight man is sober, calm and feeds the set up line.
The joker overacts, exclaims and lands the punchline.
But here, as with so much of the Addams Family this gets twisted.
So we have Raul Julia chewing the scenery in the most *magnificent* way possible to hit the two part set up, followed by the calm, barely moving Angelica Houston to come in with…
“They’re at camp.”
It’s perfect!
These movies were so damned good with amazing casting and performances from everyone involved.
To be fair to Debbie, she wanted Ballerina Barbie but got Malibu Barbie instead
I have forgotten just how good these movies were.
Raul Julia was such an amazing actor.
Never realized how great of an actor he was until I saw him in Street Fighter opposite Van Damme.
Today I learned how similar Nathan Lane and Peter Dinklage have the ability to look.
This whole movie really holds up. Love it even more than I did as a kid
WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG WARTHO…oops wrong movie
One of the best scenes, same dude who made a video character in a shitty video game adaptation have real depth
These movies are so wonderful. I absolutely love how it looks like a streak of light is going across Morticia’s face in every scene like something out of a noir film from the 50’s
Who moved the rock? My wife and I still use this line. Good on Nathan. Blessed casting.
So miss RJ.
Of course!
Timon is that you ??
they’re at camp ❤️❤️
I love how every scene had to have personalized morticia adams lighting so she always had a vail of moonlight.
“The day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.”
Nice Coke product placement
Gone too soon. He would have made so many more characters his own if he didn’t get cancer. Probably would have won an Oscar by now.
