Scott Thompson was a pioneer not only in comedy but in gay representation.
He would go out there and play roles that bought light to the gay community but also was many of the 90’s generations intro to normalizing gay and trans people.
He is and always will be a legend. And fucking hilarious as well!
It was the 90s and gay people were being treated as normal people. My favorite sketch from the group was when Dave had a sarcastic speech impediment. https://youtu.be/ziH9St7ajuw?si=_SprWasaSIb_AYac
For me, and this is only for me, I don’t care for it much, over campness bores me and innuendos are not funny. That’s to me, clearly a lot of you loved it and that’s heaps cool.
Fuck Amazon Prime fir making us pay for KITH when it was free already. That’s unethical and shitty. That’s like selling me a car and then coming in the middle of the night, stealing if my catalytic converter, and then charging me to get it back. Fuck Prime.
I recently opened for a weekend of Scott doing his Buddy Cole character. He’s hilarious on and off stage. He’s written a new hour as the character and its SO good. Definitely go if you get the chance.

Kids in the Hall was peak Canadian comedy
Before the death of humor.
Tangier than what?
30 Helens agree.
Great twist.
Buddy!
My spousal unit loves Buddy. Even bought the book.
I’m crushing your heads
Fuck. Something actually funny on r/funny? Is this even allowed?
Fabulous.
Is his chair creaking the whole time? Dear Jesus.
Buddy!
You would never get away with this now 😂
this guy played the same character every single time in KITH until the reboot
I heard you were abroad, I see nothing’s changed…
And a pterodactyl swooped in and bit off Jules head! https://youtu.be/5LtmAfOXWDo?si=_mQ7IKrOWboM-ynR

Saw Scotty do an evening of Buddy in Boston years ago. Beyond hilarious
I feel so privileged to have grown up watching this show
This is r/gay_irl
Now I have the KITH theme song running through my head.
He’s getting girl drink drunk

My favorite “Butterick” moment is “The Kerfuffle!”.His QE2 was beyond hilarious!”Oh look!It IS magic!”
I love the Kids in the Hall, and Buddy is a great character, but this is literally about paedophilia. Creeps me out TBH.
This, THIS was such a great great show!
Canadian treasure

Scott Thompson’s appearances on the old NBC Conan show are fucking fantastic

I read his book.
I NEED MORE SAUSAGES
So we aren’t going to talk about the normalization of grooming this skit perpetuates? The offensive language? You all are really sick. Sad.
I saw Buddy Cole perform at a local comedy club last winter. Still very funny and very on point, though, some eyebrows were raised
We are truly blessed with the comedies CBC has aired over the years.
