I am guessing that this is a form of infinity mirror and would love to see how it is constructed to work. Spherical mirror inside with one way mirror windows?
How do *you* pronounce it? The 3rd one is what I was taught in a book. However, I just learned where the name came from:
>Johannes Kepler in Harmonices Mundi (1618) named this polyhedron a rhombicosidodecahedron, being short for truncated icosidodecahedral rhombus, with icosidodecahedral rhombus being his name for a rhombic triacontahedron.

“Icosidodecahedral” looks to my eyes like it should have a soft ‘c’ at the start of the word like “ice” but apparently the first syllable is “ike.” So, I’m leaning towards the 3rd pronunciation with the “BIC” syllable.
I always thought this was a cool word especially because it’s 22 characters long lol.
I can’t honestly tell from the video: is this an entirely digital piece, or is it some *exceptionally* crafty physical stuff?
I would assume one would be able to see through and out to the other side from most of the shots, so my assumption is awesome digital stuff, but there are some serious wizards in the physical art space, so…🤷♂️
I’ll see your rhombicosidecahedron and raise you a dodecicosidodecahedron..,

I like how a few people just casually walk past this like it’s not the most mesmerizing object in the known universe
That is fucking cool.

Oh hey that’s my home screen background :D. Looked real sick in person when I visited Palm Springs.
Funny I learned how to say that word in 3rd or 4th grade as joke and now 30 years later I read this title with ease
that looks like a portal to the multiverse it looks so cool!
finally… an example of contemporary fine art people of reddit can appreciate instead of using as a sledgehammer to bash the industry.

That’s the Eye of Magnus and you can’t convince me otherwise.
