W is literally Double U, or two UU right next to each other. Goes back to Latin when the vowel U was written V (like TOTVS = totus = all or everything) So Double U was written VV and really wasn’t it’s own letter, just had a different pronunciation than single U.
The worst spoken acronym of all time is WWW. It’s triple the syllables of World Wide Web.
Let’s just start calling it “wuh” (as in wonder).
It’s not even double u’s.
2 v’s.
If we call it twoove, it’s more accurate, and only one syllable
Bring back the letter [Wynn](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wynn?wprov=sfla1)
For me it’s Y that spiked, but ok.
Dubya
What the hell “W”
Pretty sure the letter “elemeno” is 4 syllables.
Lmno has 4 syllables.
Wuh would be a better pronunciation
The nato phonetic alphabet levels the playing field a bit:
Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golph, Hotel, India, Juliette, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, Xray, Yankee, Zulu.
My favorite part about this is:
When spoken the acronym WTF is actually longer than just saying “What the fuck”.
En français, Y gets in trouble, too
Double U
We’re shortening it to just “dub”.
At least when playing something and you clinch the win, you can say, “Got the dub.”
You can drop it down to two by referencing America’s 43rd president
I wonder who decided to call a “W”, “Double-U” instead of what it obviously is, “Double-V”?
It’s a funny world we live in.
If Mitch Hedberg used props.

we could call it ‘wuh’ but that would really mess up the song
The amount of people with a major misunderstanding of what syllables are in this thread is really interesting.
why does the chart have 0.5 intervals how do you have half a syllable
Doesn’t f have two syllables because it’s ehhh-fff, the jaw lowered and then raised, but once it’s over your jaw lowers again(?)
I’m high
Why isn’t it “double-vee?”
Plus, it’s more like a double-V than a double-U anyway… this letter is all over the place!
Looks like the W gets the W for most syllables
