I watched a lot of Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In reruns on Bravo as a teenager and it still blows my mind that a show that raunchy really was on network TV in the 60’s.
OMG! I had this as a kid…. Well probably my mom or dad had it and I commandeered it to my collection! I wore this out along w a Richard Prior and Steve Martin record through many record player needles…
She basically did two major characters, the telephone operator and Edith Ann. She would sit on a giant rocking chair and talk in a little kid’s voice.
I was a big Laugh-In fan, so when Lily Tomlin was touring in the early 70s, my parents took me to one of her shows. At the end of the show, she invited audience members to go on stage and do these characters. I was probably only around ten, but I have a vague memory of my parents talking me into doing my version of Edith Ann for her, and her saying she liked it.
I have that album. Its pretty good.

What an awesome person she is. I bet she’s an absolute blast at parties. Or any other function, really.
God I can hear that picture.
Great album!
