Nice
I’ll take 1 of each, please.
Wow, games were expensive back then too
This brings back memories. I spent many hours looking at videogames in catalogues, wishing I had the money to buy them.
Damn, that’s pure gold right there!
Mario 64 in 1997, 59.99
Mario Odyssey 2022, 59.99
Gamers in 2022, “games are too expensive!”
Lies, you stashed that to look at the bra ads on the next page
I don’t get why it says low price on super Mario 64 and pilotwings can someone explain
Literally every price saying either “Low Price!” or “Sale”… genius marketing
Gamers today: “What the hell, we gotta pay $70 for games today?”
Gamers in the 90s: *Paid $90 in 2022 dollars for games*
Pilotwings was my shit, lost a lot if childhood on that one
Some of us had playboy, some of us had sears, some of us had the toy section of target.
Omg I forgot about pilotwings.
I paid $75 at Wal-Mart for Super Mario RPG back then. That was a big chunk of my summer lawn mowing money, and it was totally worth it.
Yeah I’d cut the edge off advertising clothing, and frame the rest. :3
This has to be 1996, Mario 64 and pilot Wings were the only 2 launch title for Nintendo 64, they would promote other games by 1997. And the super NES was all but done by 1997, DK3 was really the only reason to keep it.
I remember initially regretting buying the N64 due to the lack of games in the beginning. I was super jealous of my friend’s Sega Saturn but I got the N64 so we’d have variety when at each other’s houses. I loved visiting and playing Die Hard Arcade. I made out better in the end as the N64 got more games.
Crash Bandicoot slapped
$200.00 in 1997 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $369.06 today.
So, in today’s money almost $400 for a PS1
You can pick up a PS4 with 500g HD for less than $250.
$600-700 for a PS5.
Nintendo has not lowered the price on those games yet, soon.
Iron & Blood was hot fucking garbage but it had a charm to it.
A Spaulding sports bra or bike shorts for $9.88?
Man it’s crazy how much things have changed
$200 25 years ago translates to almost $500 in today’s money. How can they call that a low price?
In 1997 you could get a 1br apartment for $300-$500. Now it’s $800-$1100
You know times are tough when vintage sale flyers are out here stealing holiday decorations just to get by…
Did you tell the Target ad from 1997 to look somewhere else for Halloween decorations?
I would do anything to go back and relive those years
SNES for $95. I’ll take 4.
Super Mario going for… adjusting for inflation… the Low, Low Price of $110.70…
Iron and Blood: Warriors of Ravenloft was pretty bad ass for its time.
Zenobia was my preferred fighter.
I miss the 90s
Targeted ads from 1997 eh?
Why was the Target ad looking for your Halloween decorations?
Man remember how revolutionary the gameboy color was? This must have been right before it came out.
Only 200 bucks for a cool console. The golden era of gaming
*Many years later*
Playstation 5 – $9045
