I could be wrong, but maybe it has something to do with those games being pre-Disney? It sounds dumb, but maybe the other ones only needed the Star Wars trademark at that time, but the subtitle that followed wasnt trademarked. So now, Star Wars is a huge brand, the trademarking follows the subtitle? So like, you couldn’t make a game and have it be called “etc etc: Fallen Order”
Call me stupid if im wrong, babymama will do it for you if you dont.
This was a “”problem”” with the Resident Evil series but they fixed after 10 years of complains and petitions.
Since Star Wars is super famous and they care a lot about stuff that doesn’t return any money, i’m pretty sure they gonna change this in less than 20 years.
Third-year law student here (and studying for an IP law final exam next week). Most likely, the trademark is for the full title of the game (Star Wars Jedi: Survivor) whereas most of the other games did not get trademark protection for the full title of the game. Then, for games like Starfighter (with two TM symbols in the name) there are two separate trademarks, one covering Star Wars and one for “Starfighter” by itself. I tried to confirm this on the USPTO website (you can just Google “TESS trademark search”) but it kept crashing so maybe someone else can confirm.
TL;DR — the game is unplayable. 0/10 would recommend /s
I don’t know if this is unpopular opinion, but all of these “tm” marks in names of products, especially from a well known franchise are cringe af. Everytime I see that stupid trademark mention in a name of a game, I die a little. It totally ruins the aesthetic of a title, looks like their stupid fragile company profit could be undermined by not mentioning that it’s a trademarked word combination.
The OCD is strong with this one
Post it to steam suggestions as reasoning for why we should be able to have custom titles.
Either they didn’t get the trade mark for the game- Or they hate the players.
I’m going with “they hate the players”
So, you like Star Wars?
Literally unplayable.

Dear God… ***it’s hideous!***
Star Wars is no longer Trademarked. Only the Star Wars games are. We did it, everyone. Star Wars is public domain.

Does the vertical box look like it’s floating to anyone else? I love that 3d effect certain shades of red get.

I love that Starfighter and X-Wing Alliance are double trademarked lol
Remake?
Why is no one asking why this is NSFW
I can’t wait for their newest game.
Star^TM Wars^TM Star^TM Fighter^TM
Remake?
Just looking at those titles takes me on a trip down memory lane.
You’re missing Shadows of the Empire. There is a PC version you know.
I see someone else got the star wars humble bundle.
Star Wars™ Starfighter™ be like:
Both? Both. Yes, both is good.
You are on this game series, but we do not grant you the rank of trademark.
Why is this flagged nsfw
I’m surprised you have ANYTHING else installed at the same time as Survivor.
In the gameboy version of the first DBZ TCG, every mention of every characters name in the game and dialogue included the “tm”, it was so obnoxious.
