I’m glad we got that video tape to learn about that internet thing.
The title’s wrong. It’s from ’95 not ’91.
I’d rather learn my internet from Paul Perkenstein
I can think of no better way than to watch this on my Sunday mornings. No better way. Stay safe out there ‘newbie’!
Pro Tip: The Saxophone rift at the end is worth the watch alone.
They didn’t even mention porn, which is like the entire reason for the Internet.
“Just like High School, the best thing to do is just be yourself. You won’t be a ‘newbie’ for long!”
Information Superhighway 2022:
* Porn
* Trolls
* Scammers
* Serial killers
* The worst of humanity
Enjoy :)!
I see a parallel between those who said “30 million compared to the population of the world is negligible” and those in early 2020 who said “80,000 compared to the population of the world is negligible”
Stewart Cheifet! It’s been so long, I miss Computer Chronicles… and Gary Kildall.
I absolutely fucking love living in a time where the internet exists and is modern enough to enjoy and have integrated through my entire life. We’re all god damned super humans, cyborgs even, compared to people from just 100 years ago. I’m sure they had their own state of admiration for whatever tech they had compared to 200 years ago I realize. And I just can’t fathom what the next 100 has in store for us. If there is an afterlife, I hope it is a nonlinear timeline where I can traverse along to see what kind of amazing tech we’ve developed in the future.
His PBS series, The Computer Chronicles, was fucking awesome
I miss the Computer Chronicles.
That made me think about this gem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzbzMYhZgDM
This is going to be fun.
