But wouldn’t Microsoft have to let that product placement be there? So it was an inside joke? I know ESPN, and the others had to be paid to use their logos for the scenes of the ‘sport’.

Should had called it the Ybox with the question mark logo
Should’ve called it Entertainment 720, because that name still would’ve been better than Xbox One.
Also, yeah, this was a thing when that movie came out. Everybody figured that was verification that it was for sure going to be the name.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which is “never get involved in a land war in Asia,” but only slightly less well-known is this: Never expect a logical name for a new Xbox.
They didn’t wanna call it 720 cuz ppl would then associate it with 720p resolution. Which would be another nail in the coffin that was the Xbox one.
The reason it’s called the Xbox 720 is because when you see it, you turn 720 degrees and walk away.
