What we’re seeing here is a person who can make the distinction between someone’s personal views and their professional or other notable skills. Having a strong dislike for Manny’s ridiculous views driven by his religion yet acknowledging his skill as a boxer. In my own parallel, I have a huge amount of respect for Ted Kaczynski. Extremely smart man who could see how corporations and technology are ruining the world and nature. Of course, he lost me as soon as he started blowing people up, but he still has my respect.

Paying people to bring them footage like this basically results in assholes like the guy filming bothering celebs with baiting questions. All day everyday. And people wonder why some celebs are assholes and refuse to engage with anyone. Even if you aren’t holding a camera they are swarmed by people secretly recording them to get a reaction. That and losers that beg for autographs for their “kids” and turn around to sell them on eBay. I hate people so fucking much sometimes. Well handled on Dave’s part. Dude seems like a genuine badass with a good heart. “There’s nothing funny about it” shut that little chuckle head down with grace.
What do you expect from someone who grew up on the streets in a third world at age 14? A guy who professionally boxed to get out of poverty, taking hits to the brain. This isn’t someone who went and got their bachelors in psychology.
Why would his opinion on this subject matter so much? Within the Philippines it doesn’t matter at all. A lot of people hold a lot of different opinions. Some we fully disagree with and see as abhorrent. A lot of people you even like have some views you wouldn’t find acceptable, you just don’t hear about it.
