Really need the story behind the Slow White Buffalo name
Who’s tryna smoke?
Natives of both americas was damn badass
This would be so cool to see colorized.
Driving at night in a car up in the great north woods, with my American Indian friend, we spotted a deer, just standing there, looking, i was the passenger, he was the driver, roll the window down, quiet, he said, 3 seconds later the rifle was in my hands, shoot it now he said, i did , it spun around in a circle and then dropped to the ground, the dear was quickly field gutted out, we took it back to his family home where mom helped cut it all up, then she cooked dinner with some of the deer we just shot, she gave me a slice of the heart, and said, you brought food into the family, you get the first bite, and, you now have privileges of hunting and fishing on our land near ****. I was honored, all I could mumble was thank you. And we all chowed down a very good meal.
Wish my nickname was Hunkpapa
Nicely photographed. The orthochromatic (and somewhat UV-sensitive) emulsions of the day rendered their complexions quite dark. They probably did not appear thus to the eye.
I don’t know this photographer. Curtis’s work from the same era is better known.
