FYI, this band’s greatest claim to fame is their role in the start of Mesa Boogie. According to the story, Randall Smith hot rodded a Fender Princeton for Barry Melton. Carlos Santana heard the amp and said Man that Fender really boogies! So Randall built another one for Carlos just in time to use at Woodstock. The rest is history!
My folks were very in the hippy/music scene in San Francisco/Monterey in the late 60’s-early 70’s (like they knew the Grateful Dead, and Kris Kristofferson etc) and Country Joe and the Fish we’re and still are my mom’s favorite band.
1,2,3 what are we fighting for? Don’t ask me, I don’t give a damn, the next stop is Vietnam. 5,6,7 open up the pearly gates. We’ll, there ain’t no time to wonder why, whoopie! We’re all gonna die!

Fun Country Joe and The Fish fact:Country Joe is one person and The Fish is one person. The Fish isn’t a backup band like Bill Haley and the Comets or something like that. People called him The Fish and he was the other person in the band.
