Did Netflix just make a Nightmare Before Christmas for a new generation with several of my favorite creators? Because that would be cool.
Very rad to see the passion that was put into this project.
Man, I am not liking the kid designs as much as I thought I would. The movie looks great, but those kids look like first-draft designs to me.
Ya know….the animation and art direction was outstanding. Absolutely amazing and enjoyable to look at!
But the story and characters…..really sucked.
The motivations for Wendell and Wild wanting to build a theme park made no sense….
The transgender child really had no plot point. Like, what was the point of his character? The main character basically left him to die with the demons…but for some reason he still wants to be friends with her…
The devil deciding to love Wendell and Wild because they are his only kids that did not abandon him….BUT he LITERALLY saw that they were bottled up in some old guy’s basement? Meaning they MAY have actually come back to him?…..
Why did the people at the catholic school not seem to explain what was going on to the main little girl? She had a GD mark that looked like teeth on the back of her hand….
Were the parents in heaven before coming back to life? Why did they suddenly come back from the moment of death? Guess there isn’t an afterlife….BUT WE SAW HELL?…..
Why did the people brought back to life seem so zombie like? The main character’s parents came back and didn’t seem so “other worldly?”
This movie just was not very good….ESPECIALLY since I got the feeling that it was not exclusively a child’s film, so it was hard to ignore these obvious story problems.
I’m glad Netflix have this q shot but they needed more work on the story and maybe even cut off some dub points entirely
