I always find it amusing whenever Americans talk about K-mart because they always are referring to it like it doesn’t exist anymore yet here in Australia it is booming and has over 300 stores in the country lol.
I’ll be that weirdo. I think that might be the Kmart that was at Circle Drive and Airport Road in Colorado Springs. The red car looks like it has Colorado plates. We used to go to that store when I was a kid and I vaguely remember the parking lot sorta sloped down and away from the entrance.
Is this you in the photo, OP?
They used to have cafeterias in them back in the day.
Blue light specials were the shit.
Blue light specials and layaway.
That Oldsmobile tho

I remember 1979 K-mart. What a fucking trip life has been.
My grandparents were transferred to California from Savannah in the 60’s. Grandma said she would go to K Mart to feel like she was back home.
Loved me some Kmart
I remember when they had an entire aisle of toy guns.
Come to Australian Kmart. It’s always packed
I won a cabbage patch doll in a Christmas drawing there. Maybe 1982?
I worked for KMart for a few years in the early 90s. Its been very strange for me to watch their slow death spiral over the past decade or so.
“Attention Shoppers, we have a Blue Light Special on aisle 10. Green Polyester Pants, Mens or Womens…..you decide!”
Blue light special
Am I the only one focused on the cars?
Wow. That’s crazy….that Oldsmobile has Colorado plates. I grew up in Colorado…quite possible I’ve been in the store pictured!
In my day, we called this wasting film. Note the frustration on Dad’s face.
They had the best subs.
Hey Floyd, let’s hop in the car and take a picture in front of the K-Mart
I worked for KMart – I loved it they paid weekly & it was cash

I wonder what state this is in. Looks exactly like the one near where I live that FINALLY closed like 3 years ago.
Who knew the K in BTK was for Kmart 🙂
Gives me serial killer vibes.
maybe, but you haven’t live life if you never went into a Gibson’s or Venture
My grandmother loved K-mart so much. She was so sweet and kind.
