There is clever editing right before the dirty band camp reveal. The camera starts slowly zooming in when she’s about to tell her sexy story. Then as soon as Jim realises it’s a dud the camera starts slowly zooming out. Drawing the audience in, then letting you down again. You’ve given up with poor Jim at this point. It’s genius. Then snap cuts into flute and you have a whole theatre making a memory nobody has ever forgot. Genius, low budget, amateur film making.

Was too young to see this movie when it came out (as we’re surely most of my peers) but that didn’t stop us from saying “this one time at band camp” for many years
It’s funny how the shorter term “the Net” never caught on [EDIT: in America, at least], despite apparently being actively pushed in the late ’90s. We say TV, phone, tech… but always Internet. (We do have a short form, but it’s a different word: “online” instead of “on the Internet.”)
Friendly reminder to never quote that to Alyson if you ever meet her. As iconic as it is, it’s not the greatest moment of her career in retrospect and as a mom she finds it incredibly cringe.
Can’t find the clip but she’s stated it quite a few times. It’s about the worse “normal” interaction a fan can have with her.

I always thought alyson hannigan had the weirdest breathing patterns when she delivers her lines in everything she is in. Apparently she’s lived with really bad allergies her whole life so maybe thats the reason.
I remember learning from the DVD commentary that in the screenplay for this movie, every one of Michelle’s lines was punctuated with a question mark.
