What this guy forgot to mention, let alone document, was at that time, **PRIDE FC** became the best, if not *the* greatest MMA organization in the world. Between 1997 till 2007, Pride was dominating the MMA sport world and UFC cannot compete.
At the time when T.U.F. Season 1 came (2005), the UFC were desperate to have their fanbase. Pride on the other hand, was the better product b/c of their vignettes and Pride events like Pride Bushido and Pride Grand Prix (ala UFC 1-4 type of event). This was when MMA was at their golden age. UFC was having issues with a foreign market, they would have to send their own fighters like Chuck Lidell to compete in a Pride FC event in Japan.
