When dearth of knowledge became a knowledge-pregnancy
The birth was paid for in hours.
Some violet. Some sour.
The midwife could be boring
Or abhorring
Or a tower.
New life.
New mothers.
A new kind of piousness
And there was violence.
Some died.
But the other side
Of this dual legacy
Was new power.
Not a single dick on the whole table? Now I’m skeptical.
