That’s an Opossum and they can carry Tuberculosis and Leprosy and transmit them easily to humans, especially the young as they are directly exposed at birth. They are a very common vector for these diseases – and you should have it checked asap.

I had a big one come through my cat door (in the basement) and it hid out in my laundry room for a few days. I expect to see a few of these tiny ones now.
