I feel like if these shows had been on a few years later they 100% would’ve done a big cross over special. Hell, I’m honestly a bit surprised they haven’t announced the “Monk vs Psych” movie for Peacock yet.
I remember when Monk ended they had a promo with Psych and Dead Zone where the Dead Zone guy complained about seeing the horrific deaths in his mind, and I think Shaun complains about getting carpal tunnel from doing the thing with his hand next to his head.
I love Psych snd Monk and especially Monk growing up. But some parts of it have aged growing up, like I’m pretty sure I fucking memory holed *Who you gonna call* because it was the only episode of Psych I had no memory of and I’m pretty sure I rewatched the whole series back in high school.
But I still love both shows and eagerly look forward to the next Psych reunion movie and the Monk movie coming out this December.
I miss the days when USA and Sci-Fi had the budget to actually make good shows. Sci-Fi is limping along with shows like Chucky and USA threw in the towel but both are hallowed out from what they use to be.
Hopefully there will be a Psych reference in the new Monk movie. Even just a shot of Shawn and Gus way in the background at the police department while Shawn is having a psychic vision and completely flailing around unnoticed by the Monk cast in the foreground for like 2-3 minutes straight. Then Shawn suddenly slams his face against the plexiglass wall, causing everyone to turn around and stare, while he slowly slides his smooshed face down the wall making a loud prolonged squeaking noise. Afterward, everyone just goes back to what they were doing like it’s any other day. Then Monk would be distracted by the streak the rest of the scene. Next scene could be him trying to loudly clean it and annoying Chief Vick after Shawn and Gus have left. An indirect meeting like this would be funnier than if they had a dialogue together.

I’d watch it. Also, why did this post pop up on news?
blue-sky USA was the best
Psych was my happy place.

Dang it now I want Cheetos.
Lol I shared this with someone on a thread earlier about the new Monk movie

And then Burn Notice comes in “I’d like to talk to you about the characters welcome initiative”
I miss the old school USA lineup. TV was just simpler then and just fun
I was so excited until I read “commercial”
Why didn’t they do an episode with these 2? Would have been great.
I need this for real.
