When asked how his marriage (to Joanne Woodward) managed to stay so strong with all the temptations of Hollywood starlets he replied, “Why go out for hamburger when I got steak at home?”
I had the occasion to meet Paul Newman in Maine when he was filming a movie there. He was already in his seventies and yet he was every bit as handsome as always. It was the blue eyes that really stood out. He was very nice, and cordial.
I’d leave just about anyone for him. Gawd what a gorgeous man he was. Watching *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid* pretty much confirmed that I was gay back in the 70s.
I remember watching Butch Cassidy and the Sun Dance Kid with my dad when I was much younger. That was my introduction to Paul Newman. My dad proceeded to tell me that Newman was the only person my mom was allowed to leave my dad for. To this day, I still find that to be incredibly reasonable
My wife’s grandmother was involved in community theater. She was the last person to direct Paul Newman, prior to his departure to Broadway. They exchanged Christmas cards for quite a few years afterwards. She used to tell us that he was, “So handsome!”

Yeah he was smokin’ hot.
He sold good salad dressing too
Understandable really.

Eh, I’d leave my wife for that.
NEWMAN
That’s one handsome dude and I’m a straight guy! What a great actor and philanthropist!
She would be confronted with an understandably long line.
Luckily he’s dead
Yeah, well, he left a wife and three kids for Joanne Woodward.
Don’t press your luck.
I’d leave your wife for that. And my wife too.
Dude was hot in fairness.
My OH has told me if Hugh Jackman if shows up looking for her, she is gone. Don’t blame her either.
He was a mixed up guy, so good thing she didn’t
She’s right.
I would also leave you for this
He does love his boiled eggs! 😀
Agreed, I’d leave my wife for that. Good God.
My wife doesn’t think he or Robert Redford are attractive. I think she’s crazy but thankfully I still pass.

PSA: Slap Shot is on Netflix

I’d leave you for that. And I’m a straight, married man.
Maybe if I show this to my wife, she will leave me too?
Was watching Butch and Sundance the other day, wife walked in a did a completely obvious double take.
Tell your wife she needs to get in line
I’d leave me for this.
I’m not gay but. Oh no wait now I am. Carry on!
I’d leave all of you for that, and I’m a straight guy that is perfectly ok with staying single lmao.
My wife left me for this picture…..
